MIFGS 2013 - ReSurgence

The theme for ReSurgence was inspired by the 100th anniversary of the passing of William Guilfoyle, a director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne, who created the distinctive landscape and planting style that exists there and in many significant Victorian gardens today. Our garden is a celebration and reinterpretation of Guilfoyle’s romantic, exotic style of planting and the ReSurgence of horticulture following the drought. The garden features planting combinations rarely seen in a Show Garden mixed with a combination of vintage and modern materials that drags some of William Guilfoyle’s ideas into a garden for today.
